Here L\mathcal{L}L is the set of logarithms of algebraic numbers, and L~\widetilde{\mathcal{L}}L is the Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q-vector space spanned by 111 and L\mathcal{L}L. Roy's strong six exponentials theorem is carried as the hypothesis hSSE: if x1,x2x_1, x_2x1,x2 are Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q-linearly independent and so are y1,y2,y3y_1, y_2, y_3y1,y2,y3, then one of the six products xiyjx_iy_jxiyj is not in L~\widetilde{\mathcal{L}}L. Baker's theorem is carried as the hypothesis hB, in its two-logarithm inhomogeneous form, as in DiazModulus.candidate_one_log_saturation.

  1. Let x1,x2x_1, x_2x1,x2 be linearly independent over Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q and (y1,y2,1/x1)(y_1, y_2, 1/x_1)(y1,y2,1/x1) linearly independent over Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q. If x2/x1∈L~x_2/x_1 \in \widetilde{\mathcal{L}}x2/x1∈L, the four numbers x1y1,x1y2,x2y1,x2y2x_1y_1, x_1y_2, x_2y_1, x_2y_2x1y1,x1y2,x2y1,x2y2 are not all in L~\widetilde{\mathcal{L}}L.
  2. Let x1,x2x_1, x_2x1,x2 be linearly independent over Q\mathbb{Q}Q and y1,y2y_1, y_2y1,y2 linearly independent over Q\mathbb{Q}Q. If x2/x1∈L~x_2/x_1 \in \widetilde{\mathcal{L}}x2/x1∈L, the four numbers are not all in L\mathcal{L}L.

Proof. Part 1 is the theorem applied to (x1,x2)(x_1, x_2)(x1,x2) and (y1,y2,1/x1)(y_1, y_2, 1/x_1)(y1,y2,1/x1), whose two extra products are 111 and x2/x1x_2/x_1x2/x1. For part 2, if the four numbers are logarithms, Baker's theorem makes (x1,x2)(x_1, x_2)(x1,x2) and (1/x1,y1,y2)(1/x_1, y_1, y_2)(1/x1,y1,y2) independent over Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q, and part 1 applies.

Novelty. None: this is Théorème 4 of Diaz (2007), p. 385, with his proof (p. 386). Diaz presents it as a corollary of the strong six exponentials theorem that generalises Waldschmidt's five exponentials theorem. The contribution of this node is the formal proof.

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
