integer-multiplication

Let ti=2eit_i=2^{e_i}ti=2ei for i<di<di<d, r≥1r\ge1r≥1 and T=r∏itiT=r\prod_it_iT=r∏iti. Let U,VU,VU,V be Gaussian-integer arrays on the box t1×⋯×td×rt_1\times\cdots\times t_d\times rt1×⋯×td×r with ∣Ux∣,∣Vx∣≤2p|U_x|,|V_x|\le2^p∣Ux∣,∣Vx∣≤2p on the box. Let WjW_jWj be the exact unnormalised cyclic convolution at an index jjj, i.e. Wj=∑k,cU(k,c)V(j−k, jd+1−c)W_j=\sum_{k,c}U_{(k,c)}V_{(j-k,\,j_{d+1}-c)}Wj=∑k,cU(k,c)V(j−k,jd+1−c) with indices taken cyclically. Dividing both parts of WjW_jWj by 2pT2^pT2pT with rounding towards zero gives W~j\widetilde W_jWj, which satisfies

∣W~j∣≤2p,∣W~j−2p 1T(u∗v)j∣≤2,|\widetilde W_j|\le2^p,\qquad\bigl|\widetilde W_j-2^p\,\tfrac1T(u*v)_j\bigr|\le\sqrt2,∣Wj∣≤2p,Wj−2pT1(u∗v)j≤2,

where u=2−pUu=2^{-p}Uu=2−pU, v=2−pVv=2^{-p}Vv=2−pV and 1T(u∗v)\frac1T(u*v)T1(u∗v) is convC. So any exact integer convolution routine followed by one rounding meets the oracle hypothesis of bluestein_fp with δ=2\delta=\sqrt2δ=2.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
