Let DDD be a closed bounded subset of a real normed space and fff a map into a normed group with ∥f(x)−f(x′)∥≤∥x−x′∥\|f(x)-f(x')\|\le\|x-x'\|∥f(x)−f(x′)∥≤∥x−x′∥ on DDD. If ∥f(b)−f(b′)∥=∥b−b′∥\|f(b)-f(b')\|=\|b-b'\|∥f(b)−f(b′)∥=∥b−b′∥ for all points b,b′b,b'b,b′ of the relative boundary of DDD, then ∥f(x)−f(x′)∥=∥x−x′∥\|f(x)-f(x')\|=\|x-x'\|∥f(x)−f(x′)∥=∥x−x′∥ for all x,x′∈Dx,x'\in Dx,x′∈D. The line through xxx and x′x'x′ meets DDD in a set whose extreme points on the line are relative boundary points p,p′p,p'p,p′, in the order p,x,x′,p′p,x,x',p'p,x,x′,p′, and the triangle inequality along that chord is an equality.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
