This formalizes the global chain rule for diffusionGenerator, identified in the source as step (82) of Bizeul–Klartag–Lehec (arXiv:2610.05474v1).

Let VVV and WWW be real normed additive groups, let d∈Nd\in\mathbb Nd∈N, let b:V→Vb:V\to Vb:V→V be a drift field, let σ:V→Fin(d)→V\sigma:V\to\mathrm{Fin}(d)\to Vσ:V→Fin(d)→V be the noise field, let Φ:W→R\Phi:W\to\mathbb RΦ:W→R, let G:V→WG:V\to WG:V→W, and let x∈Vx\in Vx∈V. Assume that Φ\PhiΦ and GGG are globally C2C^2C2 (ContDiff ℝ 2).

Writing σk(x)=σ(x,k)\sigma_k(x)=\sigma(x,k)σk(x)=σ(x,k), the generator of the composite satisfies

L(Φ∘G)(x)=DΦ(Gx)[DG(x)b(x)+12∑kD2G(x)[σk(x),σk(x)]]+12∑kD2Φ(Gx)[DG(x)σk(x),DG(x)σk(x)].\mathcal L(\Phi\circ G)(x)=D\Phi(Gx)\left[DG(x)b(x)+\frac12\sum_k D^2G(x)[\sigma_k(x),\sigma_k(x)]\right]+\frac12\sum_k D^2\Phi(Gx)[DG(x)\sigma_k(x),DG(x)\sigma_k(x)].L(Φ∘G)(x)=DΦ(Gx)[DG(x)b(x)+21k∑D2G(x)[σk(x),σk(x)]]+21k∑D2Φ(Gx)[DG(x)σk(x),DG(x)σk(x)].

Here diffusionGenerator is the first-order drift term plus one half of the diagonal second-derivative noise sum. The statement is a reusable coordinate-free composition rule on normed spaces; it is an equality at every point, not merely almost everywhere.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
