Let sss be a positive even integer and z>1z>1z>1 real. With Gs(z)G_s(z)Gs(z) the Selberg sieve denominator and C(s)=∏p∣s(1+p(p−1)2)C(s)=\prod_{p\mid s}\left(1+\frac{p}{(p-1)^2}\right)C(s)=∏p∣s(1+(p−1)2p),

Gs(z)  ≥  (log⁡z)22 C(s).G_s(z) \;\ge\; \frac{(\log z)^2}{2\,C(s)} .Gs(z)≥2C(s)(logz)2.

Combined with the sieve inequality, this bounds the sifted count by 2C(s) s/(log⁡z)22C(s)\,s/(\log z)^22C(s)s/(logz)2 plus the error term.

Formalization Note GGG and CCC are Schnir.G and Schnir.C from Def_Schnir_defs.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
