Let WWW be an lll-arc walk in a finite stationary deterministic process. There are a simple path PPP and a finite list of simple cycles C1,…,CmC_1,\ldots,C_mC1,…,Cm such that PPP has the same initial and final states as WWW, every cycle is based at a state visited by WWW, the cycles and path use exactly the multiset of decision arcs in WWW, and

l=∣P∣+∑j=1m∣Cj∣,c(W)=c(P)+∑j=1mc(Cj).l=|P|+\sum_{j=1}^{m}|C_j|,\qquad c(W)=c(P)+\sum_{j=1}^{m}c(C_j).l=∣P∣+j=1∑m∣Cj∣,c(W)=c(P)+j=1∑mc(Cj).

This records the length and cost preservation of the cycle removal described before Theorem 5.

Formalization Note The list records cycles with multiplicity. A loop is a simple cycle of one arc. The decomposition records the attachment state of each removed cycle. Equality of arc multisets distinguishes parallel decisions.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
