goldbachnumber-theoryprimes

This is the Oliveira e Silva–Herzog–Pardi distributed verification of the even (binary) Goldbach conjecture.

For every even natural number mmm with

4≤m≤4⋅1018,4 \le m \le 4\cdot 10^{18},4≤m≤4⋅1018,

there exist primes ppp and qqq with

m=p+q.m = p + q.m=p+q.

In the proof of the ternary Goldbach conjecture, this computation is the base on which the Helfgott–Platt prime ladder rests: for an odd nnn, one chooses a ladder rung ppp below nnn so that n−pn - pn−p is a positive even number inside this verified range, and concludes n=p+q+rn = p + q + rn=p+q+r.

Formalization Note The statement is over Nat with the bound m≤4⋅1018m \le 4\cdot 10^{18}m≤4⋅1018; the summand order is m=p+qm = p + qm=p+q.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
