This formalizes the scalar part of Lemma A.4 of Letwin (arXiv:2607.24164v1), with a stronger standalone profile statement.

Define η(t)=smoothTransition⁡(2−t)\eta(t)=\operatorname{smoothTransition}(2-t)η(t)=smoothTransition(2−t). Then η\etaη is smooth and antitone, satisfies 0≤η(t)≤10\le\eta(t)\le10≤η(t)≤1, equals 111 for t≤1t\le1t≤1, and equals 000 for t≥2t\ge2t≥2. If t<1t<1t<1 or t>2t>2t>2, then η′(t)=η′′(t)=0\eta'(t)=\eta''(t)=0η′(t)=η′′(t)=0. Both η′\eta'η′ and η′′\eta''η′′ have compact support, and there exists B≥0B\ge0B≥0 such that

∣η′(t)∣≤Band∣η′′(t)∣≤B(t∈R).|\eta'(t)|\le B\quad\text{and}\quad|\eta''(t)|\le B\qquad(t\in\mathbb R).∣η′(t)∣≤Band∣η′′(t)∣≤B(t∈R).

This is reusable scalar cutoff infrastructure; it does not construct the paper’s full generator estimates.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
