A sequencing lemma for the host program of Theorem 17 (the reduction of Exact Triangle to Lop-AE-SparseTri), about the two calls that sort the pairs by residue class and cut the classes into chunks.

Let PPP be a program of the light language whose procedures pclassesp_{\mathrm{classes}}pclasses and pchunksp_{\mathrm{chunks}}pchunks are the bodies of classes and chunks. Let xxx be an Exact Triangle instance with nnn vertices per part and weight bound UUU, and XXX the data of the host's run (the prime ppp, the capacity cap≥1\mathit{cap}\ge1cap≥1 of a chunk, the residues of the weights), and assume the host is ready at depth ddd in memory μ\muμ with free pointer fff: the three n×nn\times nn×n weight matrices are stored below fff with entries of absolute value at most UUU, 1≤p1\le p1≤p, p⋅2bitLen(U)+1p\cdot2^{\mathrm{bitLen}(U)+1}p⋅2bitLen(U)+1 and every address fit in a word, the arrays of the host fit in memory and d+2≤depthd+2\le\mathrm{depth}d+2≤depth. Let μ1\mu_1μ1 be a memory holding the residues rABr_{AB}rAB of the first matrix modulo ppp at their array.

Suppose a statement ttt satisfies: for every result r′r'r′ and every memory μ′\mu'μ′ that holds the pairs sorted class by class and the table of chunks (their residues, starts and lengths) and agrees with μ1\mu_1μ1 outside the area between the class array and the first instance matrix, ttt run from the host's local frame (with the number of chunks set) ends within T−(tclasses(n,p)+tchunks(p,k)+17)T-(t_{\mathrm{classes}}(n,p)+t_{\mathrm{chunks}}(p,k)+17)T−(tclasses(n,p)+tchunks(p,k)+17) steps with postcondition QQQ, where kkk is the number of chunks. If moreover tclasses(n,p)+tchunks(p,k)+17≤Tt_{\mathrm{classes}}(n,p)+t_{\mathrm{chunks}}(p,k)+17\le Ttclasses(n,p)+tchunks(p,k)+17≤T, then the sequence

Small:=pclasses(… );NumChunks:=pchunks(… );t\mathtt{Small} := p_{\mathrm{classes}}(\dots);\quad \mathtt{NumChunks} := p_{\mathrm{chunks}}(\dots);\quad tSmall:=pclasses(…);NumChunks:=pchunks(…);t

run from the host's local frame in memory μ1\mu_1μ1 ends within TTT steps with postcondition QQQ.

The lemma lets the proofs of the host compose the classes-and-chunks phase with whatever follows it, here the loop over the instances of the all-edges host at the middle dimension.

Formalization Note This is the lemma Light.Sec3.Et17.classes_then of the unmodified library; it is a platform node because the all-edges host at the middle dimension reuses it. The local variable names (ResAB, Size, ThePrime, Cls, …) are the slots of the host's frame Et17.locals.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
