Algebraic coefficients do not help without a constant.

Let u≠0u \neq 0u=0 with ∣u∣2|u|^{2}∣u∣2 algebraic, and suppose that uuu and iπi\piiπ are algebraically independent over Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q. Then there are no x1,x2x_1, x_2x1,x2 and y1,y2y_1, y_2y1,y2, each pair linearly independent over Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q, with all four products xiyjx_i y_jxiyj in the Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q-span of uuu, uˉ\bar uuˉ, iπi\piiπ.

So the homogeneous version of the strong four exponentials conjecture, with Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q in place of Q\mathbb{Q}Q but no constant term, has no instance on the logarithms a generic candidate certifies. With rational coefficients this is DiazModulus.generic_conj_pair_four_exp_barrier. The configuration that does detect a candidate, (1uˉuρ)\begin{pmatrix}1 & \bar u\\ u & \rho\end{pmatrix}(1uuˉρ), needs the constant, and DiazModulus.generic_period_never_enters shows that iπi\piiπ cannot enter it. That homogeneity is what separates the provable from the open is classical; see the remark following Théorème 0.2 in Roy–Waldschmidt (1997), for quadrics in transcendence degree one.

Novelty. None claimed.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
