Note that x−ωx - \omegax−ω and x−ω2x - \omega^2x−ω2 are the roots of P1(x)=x2+x+1=0P_1(x)=x^2 + x + 1=0P1(x)=x2+x+1=0 at x=ω,ω2x= \omega, \omega^2x=ω,ω2 , where ω3=1\omega^3 = 1ω3=1 . So those 2 linear polynomials are the factors of P1P_1P1 . Also, ω≠1\omega \neq 1ω=1 and the x−ωx - \omegax−ω and x−ω2x - \omega^2x−ω2 also divide P2(x)=x7+x2+1P_2(x)=x^7 + x^2 + 1P2(x)=x7+x2+1 . Thus, all the factors of P1P_1P1 are also factors of P2P_2P2 , so P1P_1P1 itself must divide P2P_2P2 .

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
