Let ppp and hhh be bivariate real polynomials and let hhh_hhh witness that hhh belongs to the multiset normalizedFactors p\mathrm{normalizedFactors}\,pnormalizedFactorsp of normalized prime factors of ppp. Then hhh is irreducible:

Irreducible h.{\mathrm{Irreducible}\,h.}Irreducibleh.

This packages the unique-factorization-domain fact that normalized factors are (prime, hence) irreducible elements, licensing the application of all irreducible-case lemmas --- fiber bounds, pair-intersection bounds, nonzero-partial results --- to each factor when decomposing a reducible curve for the factorized Bezout bound.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
