Open alternative resolution target. There exist a natural number nnn, a total binary operation ⋄\diamond⋄ on Fin(n)\mathrm{Fin}(n)Fin(n), and an element x∈Fin(n)x\in\mathrm{Fin}(n)x∈Fin(n) such that every p,q∈Fin(n)p,q\in\mathrm{Fin}(n)p,q∈Fin(n) satisfies

p=q⋄(p⋄((q⋄p)⋄q)),p=q\diamond(p\diamond((q\diamond p)\diamond q)),p=q⋄(p⋄((q⋄p)⋄q)),

but

x≠((x⋄x)⋄x)⋄x.x\ne((x\diamond x)\diamond x)\diamond x.x=((x⋄x)⋄x)⋄x.

There is no upper bound on nnn and no associativity, identity, commutativity, or cancellation assumption. The exhibited element excludes the empty carrier. Proving this target supplies a finite counterexample to the main implication. It is an alternative resolution, not an additional prerequisite for proving the implication. No witness is currently supplied.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
