Let (α,⋄)(\alpha,\diamond)(α,⋄) be a finite magma satisfying E677: for all p,q∈αp,q\in\alphap,q∈α,

p=q⋄(p⋄((q⋄p)⋄q)).p=q\diamond\bigl(p\diamond((q\diamond p)\diamond q)\bigr).p=q⋄(p⋄((q⋄p)⋄q)).

Fix x∈αx\in\alphax∈α, write Lx(z)=x⋄zL_x(z)=x\diamond zLx(z)=x⋄z, and let cn=Lx n(x)c_n=L_x^{\,n}(x)cn=Lxn(x) be the points of the left orbit of xxx. For indices i,ji,ji,j define the orbit qqq-term

q(i,j)=cj⋄((ci⋄cj)⋄ci),q(i,j)=c_j\diamond\bigl((c_i\diamond c_j)\diamond c_i\bigr),q(i,j)=cj⋄((ci⋄cj)⋄ci),

which by E677 satisfies ci⋄q(i,j)=cjc_i\diamond q(i,j)=c_jci⋄q(i,j)=cj. Then for every k≥0k\ge 0k≥0, the first subdiagonal of qqq is right translation by xxx two orbit steps later:

q(k+1,k)=ck+2⋄x.q(k+1,k)=c_{k+2}\diamond x.q(k+1,k)=ck+2⋄x.

This identity turns statements about right translation z↦z⋄xz\mapsto z\diamond xz↦z⋄x along the left orbit into statements about the explicit left-inverse terms q(k+1,k)q(k+1,k)q(k+1,k). In particular, collisions of right translation on the orbit correspond index by index to collisions on the qqq-subdiagonal.

Prior work. The identity is ETP blueprint Lemma 13.1(iii) with y=xy=xy=x at the point ckc_kck, with one left cancellation: Lemma 13.1(iii) gives ck=ck+1⋄(ck+2⋄x)c_k=c_{k+1}\diamond(c_{k+2}\diamond x)ck=ck+1⋄(ck+2⋄x), E677 gives ck=ck+1⋄q(k+1,k)c_k=c_{k+1}\diamond q(k+1,k)ck=ck+1⋄q(k+1,k), and Lck+1L_{c_{k+1}}Lck+1 is injective (Lemma 13.1(i)). The same recurrence, ck⋄dk+1=ck−1c_k\diamond d_{k+1}=c_{k-1}ck⋄dk+1=ck−1 with dk=ck⋄xd_k=c_k\diamond xdk=ck⋄x, is in S. Chuks-Onah's posts of May 2026 (ETP Zulip thread "FINITE: 677 -> 255", 2026-05-06 and 2026-05-09).

Formalization Note The orbit point cnc_ncn is written (op x)^[n] x, and q(k+1,k)q(k+1,k)q(k+1,k) is written out in full rather than through an auxiliary definition.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
