Let CCC be a bounded subset of a real normed space and x,y∈Cx,y\in Cx,y∈C. If ∥x−b∥=∥y−b∥\|x-b\|=\|y-b\|∥x−b∥=∥y−b∥ for every point bbb of the relative boundary of CCC (its frontier within its affine hull), then x=yx=yx=y. If x≠yx\ne yx=y, the ray from xxx through yyy leaves CCC at a relative boundary point bbb beyond yyy, and ∥x−b∥>∥y−b∥\|x-b\|>\|y-b\|∥x−b∥>∥y−b∥.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
