This statement establishes local Lipschitz continuity of a principal inverse-square-root operator profile.

Let E be a finite-dimensional real inner-product space and P a real normed space. Let A:P→(E→L[ℝ]E). Assume

  1. (A(p))−1(A(p))^{-1}(A(p))−1 is positive for every p;
  2. A(p) is a unit for every p; and
  3. the map p↦(A(p))−1p\mapsto(A(p))^{-1}p↦(A(p))−1 is C¹.

Then

p↦A(p)−1/2p\mapsto A(p)^{-1/2}p↦A(p)−1/2

is locally Lipschitz in the operator norm, where the inverse square root is the Lean definition inverseSqrt.

This is a reusable regularity statement for parameter-dependent positive invertible operators, including localization covariance profiles.

Formalization Note The parameter space has a normed additive-group and real normed-space structure; no finite-dimensional assumption on P is present.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
