corrected-formalizationlean-workbooksource-checked

Let 0<x1<10<x_1<10<x1<1 and, for every integer n≥1n\ge1n≥1, define

xn+1=xn+xn2n2.x_{n+1}=x_n+\frac{x_n^2}{n^2}.xn+1=xn+n2xn2.

Then there exists a real number MMM such that xn<Mx_n<Mxn<M for every n≥1n\ge1n≥1.

Formalization Note: The original source formalization incorrectly assumed that every term was already between zero and one. This correction uses only the source initial condition and recurrence and proves boundedness. The sequence is indexed from1 as in the source.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
