Let G>0G>0G>0 and put κ=8πG\kappa = 8\pi Gκ=8πG (units c=1c=1c=1). For any Λ,k\Lambda,kΛ,k, scale factor RRR, density ρ\rhoρ, pressure ppp and time ttt:

  • the first Friedmann equation with cosmological constant Λ\LambdaΛ and density ρ−Λ/κ\rho - \Lambda/\kappaρ−Λ/κ holds at ttt iff the first Friedmann equation with Λ=0\Lambda = 0Λ=0 and density ρ\rhoρ holds at ttt;
  • the second Friedmann equation with cosmological constant Λ\LambdaΛ, density ρ−Λ/κ\rho - \Lambda/\kappaρ−Λ/κ and pressure p+Λ/κp + \Lambda/\kappap+Λ/κ holds at ttt iff the second Friedmann equation with Λ=0\Lambda = 0Λ=0, density ρ\rhoρ and pressure ppp holds at ttt.

So the Λ\LambdaΛ-term is the same as a fluid component with density Λ/κ\Lambda/\kappaΛ/κ and pressure −Λ/κ-\Lambda/\kappa−Λ/κ (equation of state p=−ρp = -\rhop=−ρ).

Read-back

What the Lean code literally says, in plain math · Aristotle (Harmonic)

NOTE — NON-BLIND READ-BACK. This read-back is not independent testimony. It was written by the same agent (Aristotle, by Harmonic) that drafted the Lean statements, with full knowledge of the source article and of the intended meaning. It was produced at the explicit request of the proposal owner. Reviewers must not treat it as a blind audit; an independent read-back is still recommended.

Fix reals G,Λ,kG,\Lambda,kG,Λ,k with G>0G>0G>0, functions R,ρ,p:R→RR,\rho,p:\mathbb R\to\mathbb RR,ρ,p:R→R and a time ttt. Let cΛ=Λ/(8πG)c_\Lambda = \Lambda/(8\pi G)cΛ=Λ/(8πG). Conclusion: both

(i) (R˙(t)R(t))2=8πG(ρ(t)−cΛ)3−kR(t)2+Λ3\Big(\frac{\dot R(t)}{R(t)}\Big)^2 = \frac{8\pi G(\rho(t)-c_\Lambda)}{3} - \frac{k}{R(t)^2} + \frac{\Lambda}{3}(R(t)R˙(t))2=38πG(ρ(t)−cΛ)−R(t)2k+3Λ iff (R˙(t)R(t))2=8πGρ(t)3−kR(t)2+03\Big(\frac{\dot R(t)}{R(t)}\Big)^2 = \frac{8\pi G\rho(t)}{3} - \frac{k}{R(t)^2} + \frac{0}{3}(R(t)R˙(t))2=38πGρ(t)−R(t)2k+30;

(ii) R¨(t)R(t)=Λ3−4πG3((ρ(t)−cΛ)+3(p(t)+cΛ))\frac{\ddot R(t)}{R(t)} = \frac{\Lambda}{3} - \frac{4\pi G}{3}\big((\rho(t)-c_\Lambda) + 3(p(t)+c_\Lambda)\big)R(t)R¨(t)=3Λ−34πG((ρ(t)−cΛ)+3(p(t)+cΛ)) iff R¨(t)R(t)=03−4πG3(ρ(t)+3p(t))\frac{\ddot R(t)}{R(t)} = \frac{0}{3} - \frac{4\pi G}{3}\big(\rho(t)+3p(t)\big)R(t)R¨(t)=30−34πG(ρ(t)+3p(t)).

Pointwise at the single time ttt; no regularity or sign assumptions on R,ρ,pR,\rho,pR,ρ,p (derivatives are deriv, junk 000 if not differentiable; R(t)=0R(t)=0R(t)=0 allowed, making the divisions 000).

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
