Let xxx be an extreme vertex of P={x∈Rd:⟨ai,x⟩≤bi, i<n}P=\{x\in\mathbb R^d:\langle a_i,x\rangle\le b_i,\ i<n\}P={x∈Rd:⟨ai,x⟩≤bi, i<n}. For every linear subspace UUU of the row-normal space,

#{i:ai∉U, ⟨ai,x⟩=bi}≥d−dim⁡U.\#\{i:a_i\notin U,\ \langle a_i,x\rangle=b_i\}\ge d-\dim U.#{i:ai∈/U, ⟨ai,x⟩=bi}≥d−dimU.

The count is of describing row indices, not a claim that all counted rows are mutually independent. Redundant and zero rows are allowed; no boundedness, strict feasibility, full-dimensionality, simplicity, or irredundancy assumption is made.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
