This statement asserts that isotropy is preserved by a linear isometric equivalence.

Let EEE and FFF be finite-dimensional complete real inner product spaces equipped with their Borel measurable structures. Let ν\nuν be an isotropic probability measure on EEE, and let φ:E→F\varphi:E\to Fφ:E→F be a surjective linear isometry. Here isotropy (KLS.Isotropic) means finite second moment, zero mean, and identity centered covariance.

The pushforward probability measure is isotropic:

Isotropic⁡(φ#ν).\operatorname{Isotropic}(\varphi_\#\nu).Isotropic(φ#ν).

This permits isotropic laws to be transported between isometrically equivalent coordinate spaces.

Formalization Note The pushforward is ProbabilityMeasure.map, using the measurability supplied by continuity of φ\varphiφ. No positive-dimension assumption is required.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
