Suppose (δ+cM)/2≤cI<δ(\delta+c_M)/2\le c_I<\delta(δ+cM)/2≤cI<δ. The proof's Case 2.1 gives the no-repair outcome when c≤c‾c\le\underline cc≤c, the partial-repair outcome when c‾<c<cˉ\underline c<c<\bar cc<c<cˉ, and the full-repair outcome when cˉ≤c\bar c\le ccˉ≤c. In each regime, the displayed new-product price, repair price, used-product price, and repair probability form an equilibrium that maximizes the manufacturer's profit against every admissible competing equilibrium.

In the partial-repair regime, pn=(c+1+δ(1−f))/2p_n=(c+1+\delta(1-f))/2pn=(c+1+δ(1−f))/2, pr=pu=(δ+cM)/2p_r=p_u=(\delta+c_M)/2pr=pu=(δ+cM)/2, and 0<α^(pn,pr)<10<\hat\alpha(p_n,p_r)<10<α^(pn,pr)<1.

Formalization Note The full-repair price pr=0p_r=0pr=0 is one point on the source's optimal line. The nonnegative unit-cost pins, zero-price excess-supply corner, and none encoding of pr=∞p_r=\inftypr=∞ are part of the shared model.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
