Exposure-scaled credibility error is nonnegative

Proved
ActuarialValuation.credibilityScaledMSE_nonneg

actuarial-scienceaggregate-claimsformal-verification

The scaled prediction loss is a sum of nonnegative variance coefficients times squared deviations of the credibility weight. For nonnegative exposure and variance parameters, the prediction-error objective cannot be negative for any real weight.

Mathematical statement

P,EPV,VHM≥0⇒P MSE(z)≥0P,\mathrm{EPV},\mathrm{VHM}\ge0\Rightarrow P\,\mathrm{MSE}(z)\ge0P,EPV,VHM≥0⇒PMSE(z)≥0

What the Lean code literally says, in plain math · gpt-6

Independent mathematical reading. The real-valued scaled risk is the sum of two squared quantities multiplied by nonnegative coefficients: exposure times VHM and EPV. Squares are nonnegative for any real candidate weight. The total criterion is therefore nonnegative without having to assume the candidate z lies in the unit interval.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
