At a candidate u, under Roy's strong six exponentials theorem, a rational function z of u whose conjugation hull meets Theorem F's criterion is not in ℒ̃
ProvedDiazModulus.candidate_rational_conj_hull_criterion_not_mem_logAlgTildeHere is the set of logarithms of algebraic numbers (the with algebraic), and is the -vector space spanned by and ; spans and linear independence are over , the algebraic numbers. Roy's strong six exponentials theorem is carried as the hypothesis hSSE: if are linearly independent and so are , then one of the six products is not in .
Let be a candidate for Diaz's conjecture (DiazModulus.IsCandidate: , with and algebraic), let lie in , the subfield of generated by and , and let , the conjugation hull of . Suppose meets Theorem F's criterion, that is, one of the following holds:
- , and for some with ;
- , and satisfies (D1), (D2a) or (D2b) below.
Here, with :
- (D1) there are linearly independent with and for every ;
- (D2a, two-orbit) for some with coprime, and ;
- (D2b, cyclic) for some such .
Then .
Proof. By Hermite–Lindemann (DiazModulus.hermite_lindemann_holds, 3.2), , since and is algebraic; and is algebraic, as is. So Theorem F (DiazModulus.rational_conj_hull_two_by_three_configuration_iff, 10.146) applies to , and its “if” direction puts a configuration in . If , then : , since is algebraic, (DiazModulus.logAlg_conj_stable) and (DiazModulus.logAlgTilde_conj_stable). The configuration then lies in , against hSSE.
Novelty. Not found in the sources read as a family; routine. Its content is the “if” direction of Theorem F (DiazModulus.rational_conj_hull_two_by_three_configuration_iff): with a configuration in as the hypothesis instead of Theorem F's criterion, the conclusion holds for every , and Theorem F is not needed. Each instance is a substitution in Roy's strong six exponentials theorem (Roy 1992, Cor. 2), as in DiazModulus.candidate_laurent_conj_hull_class_not_mem_logAlgTilde (10.106) for Theorem E's classes. Special cases are printed configurations: in dimension 4, Diaz's Théorème 7(1) (2007) at , with the exclusion in its Corollaire 5(4); for polynomials of degree 2 and 3 in , Théorème 7(1); and Theorem E's class (Q) is a substitution in Diaz's Théorème 2 (2004) and Théorème 4(1) (2007). It concerns candidates, so it is vacuous if Diaz's conjecture holds.
