Let M,εM,\varepsilonM,ε be real numbers and x=(t,r,θ,φ)∈UMstd={r>0, r≠2M, 0<θ<π}x=(t,r,\theta,\varphi)\in U^{\rm std}_M=\{r>0,\ r\neq2M,\ 0<\theta<\pi\}x=(t,r,θ,φ)∈UMstd={r>0, r=2M, 0<θ<π}. The first component of the map ΦM,ε(t,r,θ,φ)=(t+ε(r+2Mlog⁡∣r−2M∣), r, θ, φ)\Phi_{M,\varepsilon}(t,r,\theta,\varphi)=\big(t+\varepsilon(r+2M\log\lvert r-2M\rvert),\ r,\ \theta,\ \varphi\big)ΦM,ε(t,r,θ,φ)=(t+ε(r+2Mlog∣r−2M∣), r, θ, φ), as a function of the radial coordinate alone, has at u=ru=ru=r the derivative

∂∂r(t+ε(r+2Mlog⁡∣r−2M∣))=ε(1+2Mr−2M).\frac{\partial}{\partial r}\Big(t+\varepsilon\big(r+2M\log\lvert r-2M\rvert\big)\Big)=\varepsilon\Big(1+\frac{2M}{r-2M}\Big).∂r∂(t+ε(r+2Mlog∣r−2M∣))=ε(1+r−2M2M).

The only nontrivial entry of the Jacobian of relations R1/R2 (ingoing ε=1\varepsilon=1ε=1, outgoing ε=−1\varepsilon=-1ε=−1); the other entries are constants.

Formalization Note Mathlib's real logarithm satisfies log⁡x=log⁡∣x∣\log x=\log|x|logx=log∣x∣, so the formula and the derivative are valid on both sides of r=2Mr=2Mr=2M; the point r=2Mr=2Mr=2M itself is excluded by the domain.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
