There exists an absolute K>0K>0K>0 such that for every fixed natural q≥2q\ge2q≥2, all sufficiently large nnn satisfy

PromotionCost⁡(n,⌊n/q⌋)≤K1+log⁡qqnlog⁡n.\operatorname{PromotionCost}(n,\lfloor n/q\rfloor)\le K\frac{1+\log q}{q}\frac n{\log n}.PromotionCost(n,⌊n/q⌋)≤Kq1+logqlognn.

The constant KKK is independent of qqq, while the eventual threshold may depend on qqq. This allows the promotion cost to be made small by choosing a large fixed cutoff parameter.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
