matrix-multiplication

A graded recipe for the hashed part does not depend on which released reference is used. Any recipe built for one reference family transports to every other family, with the same input count, the same logarithmic output and the same dimension triple.

Fix a scale KKK, a level ℓ\ellℓ and a tolerance profile ε=(εo)o∈Fin 6\varepsilon=(\varepsilon_o)_{o\in\mathrm{Fin}\,6}ε=(εo)o∈Fin6. For a family a=(ao)oa=(a_o)_oa=(ao)o of released global references at scale KKK, each owner ooo has blocks(K)\mathrm{blocks}(K)blocks(K) blocks, and aoa_oao assigns a shape (hash cell) to each of them. A block is hashed when its cell has no zero coordinate. Let NK(a)=partSize(K,a,1)=4 pK(a)N_K(a)=\mathrm{partSize}(K,a,1)=4\,p_K(a)NK(a)=partSize(K,a,1)=4pK(a) be the number of fine positions of the pK(a)p_K(a)pK(a) hashed blocks, and let QK(a,ε)\mathcal Q_K(a,\varepsilon)QK(a,ε) be the hashed source predicate QPos. It asks that every hashed block's word has the grade of its cell in the owner's hash mode, and that for every owner ooo, every nonzero cell ccc and every word www the normalised count of hashed blocks of owner ooo, cell ccc and word www is within εo\varepsilon_oεo of the released profile.

Theorem. Let aaa and a′a'a′ be any two reference families at scale KKK, and let RRR be a graded logarithmic joint recipe of level ℓ\ellℓ on NK(a′)N_K(a')NK(a′) positions with source QK(a′,ε)\mathcal Q_K(a',\varepsilon)QK(a′,ε). Then there is a graded logarithmic joint recipe R′R'R′ of level ℓ\ellℓ on NK(a)N_K(a)NK(a) positions with source QK(a,ε)\mathcal Q_K(a,\varepsilon)QK(a,ε) such that

inputs(R′)=inputs(R),logOutputs(R′)=logOutputs(R),dims(R′)=dims(R).\mathrm{inputs}(R')=\mathrm{inputs}(R),\qquad \mathrm{logOutputs}(R')=\mathrm{logOutputs}(R),\qquad \mathrm{dims}(R')=\mathrm{dims}(R).inputs(R′)=inputs(R),logOutputs(R′)=logOutputs(R),dims(R′)=dims(R).

Role. Every reference of owner ooo realises the same prescribed cell histogram K⋅coarseCountsoK\cdot\mathrm{coarseCounts}_oK⋅coarseCountso, so two families differ only by a permutation of blocks within each owner. The theorem says a construction of the hashed part may therefore fix one convenient reference family, for example one with sorted blocks, rather than handle an arbitrary one. Neither the rate nor the dimension bound changes.

Formalization Note. R′R'R′ is the one-part partition recipe whose positions are the relabelling of hashed fine positions induced by the owner-preserving, cell-preserving block bijection. dims is the full triple (a,b,c)(a,b,c)(a,b,c).

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
