Let λ>0\lambda>0λ>0, 0<μ<10<\mu<10<μ<1, and 0<p<10<p<10<p<1. If ppp satisfies the equation obtained by substituting Lemma 1's conditional choice probabilities into p=(1−μ)pb+μpgp=(1-\mu)p_b+\mu p_gp=(1−μ)pb+μpg, then

p=pˉ:=μ1−e−1/λ−1−μe1/λ−1.p=\bar p:=\frac{\mu}{1-e^{-1/\lambda}}-\frac{1-\mu}{e^{1/\lambda}-1}.p=pˉ:=1−e−1/λμ−e1/λ−11−μ.

This identifies the only possible interior value before the boundary cases are considered.

Formalization Note The equation and the interior condition are explicit hypotheses; the result does not claim that the algebraic candidate is feasible or optimal for every prior.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
