confidence-regionmdpnon-stationaryp2o-batch-pfp2ap2o-gran-per-chapterp2o-plan-paperp2o-v1reachability

Suppose the state space has at least two states, every state has an allowed action, the confidence level lies in 0<δ<10<\delta<10<δ<1, and a fixed allowed action a(s,s′)a_{(s,s')}a(s,s′) sends state sss to state s′s's′ with probability at least ζ>0\zeta>0ζ>0 at every time up to the horizon. If (s,a(s,s′))(s,a_{(s,s')})(s,a(s,s′)) has been visited in the window for time ttt, then its average true transition probability satisfies

pˉt(s′∣s,a(s,s′))≥ζ.\bar p_t(s'\mid s,a_{(s,s')})\ge\zeta.pˉt(s′∣s,a(s,s′))≥ζ.

On the event EpE_pEp, the entire averaged row pˉt(⋅∣s,a(s,s′))\bar p_t(\cdot\mid s,a_{(s,s')})pˉt(⋅∣s,a(s,s′)) belongs to the unwidened confidence region. These are the two claims in the visited-pair case of Lemma 13.

Formalization Note Times are zero-based, with τm≤t<T\tau_m\le t<Tτm≤t<T and window [τm-W,t). The one-time event EpE_pEp uses only the ℓ1\ell_1ℓ1 condition; positive visit count makes the averaged row a probability distribution. Assumption 2 quantifies over all times q<Tq<Tq<T.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
