Let KKK be algebraically closed of characteristic zero and let EEE be a connected commutative algebraic group with a locally closed projective embedding. There is a projective realization F⊆PNF\subseteq\mathbf P^NF⊆PN and an algebraic group isomorphism E→FE\to FE→F, regular in both directions, with the following property.

Every pair (x,y)∈F×F(x,y)\in F\times F(x,y)∈F×F admits an index ccc with Yc(y)≠0Y_c(y)\ne0Yc(y)=0. On this parameter chart write zj=Yj/Ycz_j=Y_j/Y_czj=Yj/Yc, let IcI_cIc be the ideal of polynomials vanishing on all its normalized group points, and put

Rc=K[Z0,…,ZN]/Ic,py=ker⁡(ev⁡z(y):Rc→K).R_c=K[Z_0,\ldots,Z_N]/I_c,\qquad \mathfrak p_y=\ker(\operatorname{ev}_{z(y)}:R_c\to K).Rc=K[Z0,…,ZN]/Ic,py=ker(evz(y):Rc→K).

There are forms

Pt∈(Rc)py[X0,…,XN](0≤t≤N)P_t\in (R_c)_{\mathfrak p_y}[X_0,\ldots,X_N]\qquad(0\le t\le N)Pt∈(Rc)py[X0,…,XN](0≤t≤N)

homogeneous of degree two in XXX. Choose for each stalk coefficient its fixed localization representative a/sa/sa/s, with s∉pys\notin\mathfrak p_ys∈/py. Evaluate that coefficient at y′y'y′ by a(z(y′))/s(z(y′))a(z(y'))/s(z(y'))a(z(y′))/s(z(y′)) whenever the pivot is nonzero, with value zero off the pivot chart. Evaluate each form by its finite monomial-support sum, denoting the resulting value by Pt(X(x′);y′)P_t(X(x');y')Pt(X(x′);y′).

For all (x′,y′)(x',y')(x′,y′) sufficiently near (x,y)(x,y)(x,y) in the actual induced multiprojective Zariski topology, the evaluated tuple is nonzero and

[P0(X(x′);y′):⋯:PN(X(x′);y′)]=x′+y′.[P_0(X(x');y'):\cdots:P_N(X(x');y')]=x'+y'.[P0(X(x′);y′):⋯:PN(X(x′);y′)]=x′+y′.

The coefficients belong to the parameter stalk at yyy; the assertion does not supply a common principal denominator or a principal neighborhood.

Formalization Note. This is an auxiliary formulation of local quadratic translation data, not a verbatim source theorem. Fraction representatives are the fixed choices in the parameter-stalk definition. Their pointwise evaluation is not asserted to be a ring homomorphism at all points; the displayed polynomial value is explicitly a finite sum. Every chosen denominator is nonzero at yyy. The parent reduction proves that all coefficients spread to one principal chart, that this chart is open in the pair topology, and that degree and projective specialization are preserved. Existence of the reembedding and of these quadratic germs, including comparison with the concrete projective point model, remains Open. Individual zero forms are permitted.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
