This formalizes the summation conclusion of Corollary 3.5 of Bizeul–Klartag–Lehec (arXiv:2610.05474v1).

Let L,χ,v:N→RL,\chi,v:\mathbb N\to\mathbb RL,χ,v:N→R and let a∈Ra\in\mathbb Ra∈R. Assume:

  1. a>0a>0a>0.
  2. Li≥0L_i\ge0Li≥0, χi≥0\chi_i\ge0χi≥0, and vi≥0v_i\ge0vi≥0 for every i∈Ni\in\mathbb Ni∈N.
  3. For every iii,
Li+1+χi+avi≤Li.L_{i+1}+\chi_i+a v_i\le L_i.Li+1+χi+avi≤Li.

Then both series ∑ivi\sum_i v_i∑ivi and ∑iχi\sum_i\chi_i∑iχi are summable, and

vi⟶0(i→∞).v_i\longrightarrow0\qquad(i\to\infty).vi⟶0(i→∞).

This is the abstract telescoping argument underlying the vanishing of the gradient-energy sequence in the tensor-energy iteration.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
