A common face of dimension exactly four has combinatorial diameter at most twice the number of describing rows.

Let FFF be a nonempty common face of a bounded nnn-row H-polytope, with common-direction dimension h=4h=4h=4. Larman in the 4-dimensional coordinate presentation supplies

DiamLE⁡(F, n⋅24−3)=DiamLE⁡(F, 2n).\operatorname{DiamLE}(F,\, n\cdot 2^{4-3}) = \operatorname{DiamLE}(F,\, 2n).DiamLE(F,n⋅24−3)=DiamLE(F,2n).

This is polynomial in (n+d)(n+d)(n+d). It does not bound faces of dimension five or more by a uniform polynomial.

Formalization Note Walks are padded.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
