Centroid of an indexed planar configuration

discrete-geometrygeometry

For an indexed configuration p=(p1,…,pn)p=(p_1,\dots,p_n)p=(p1,…,pn) of nnn points in the plane, configCentroid p is the centroid

c(p)=1n∑j=1npj.c(p)=\frac1n\sum_{j=1}^n p_j .c(p)=n1j=1∑npj.

It is the center of the annulus that contains a configuration with few distinct distances and no four points on a common circle, in the theorem Esgk.thin_annulus_sq_of_noFourCocircular.

Formalization Note The configuration is a map Fin n → ℝ². For n=0n=0n=0 the formula gives the origin, because the Lean inverse of 000 is 000.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
