Triangular sum

For every natural number nnn, define

triangleSum⁡(n)=∑k=1nk.\operatorname{triangleSum}(n)=\sum_{k=1}^{n}k.triangleSum(n)=k=1∑nk.

The sum includes both endpoints and is zero when n=0n=0n=0. This function provides the shared sum of positive integers used in the three theorem statements.

What the Lean code literally says, in plain math · Codex, based on GPT-6 (exact model identifier unavailable)

The function T:N→NT:\mathbb{N}\to\mathbb{N}T:N→N, named SumOfCubesPractice.triangleSum, assigns to each natural number nnn the sum T(n)=∑k=1nkT(n)=\sum_{k=1}^{n}kT(n)=∑k=1nk over all natural numbers kkk satisfying 1≤k≤n1\le k\le n1≤k≤n, with the sum taken in the natural numbers. The input n=0n=0n=0 is included; then the index set is empty and T(0)=0T(0)=0T(0)=0.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
