Let x(⋅)x(\cdot)x(⋅) be an optimal allocation algorithm and consider the Compensation-and-Bonus mechanism based on it. Let iii be an agent with positive type tit^iti. Then the strategy

  • declare tit^iti, and
  • for every allocation xxx, perform each task j∈xij \in x^ij∈xi in its minimal time tjit^i_jtji

is dominant for agent iii: whatever positive declarations and whatever execution plans the other agents use, no strategy consisting of a positive declaration and an execution plan feasible for tit^iti gives agent iii a larger utility.

This is the truthfulness half of Claim 5.2; it is the conclusion of the first paragraph of its proof.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
