Let uuu be a field with kkk index positions and let q≤kq\le kq≤k. Suppose B≥0B\ge0B≥0 and every adjacent transposition of positions ℓ\ellℓ and ℓ+1\ell+1ℓ+1 with ℓ+1<q\ell+1<qℓ+1<q moves uuu by at most BBB in Hilbert–Schmidt norm:

∥u−τℓu∥2≤B.\sqrt{\|u-\tau_\ell u\|^2}\le B.∥u−τℓu∥2≤B.

Then every permutation σ\sigmaσ that fixes all positions outside the first qqq positions satisfies

∥u−σu∥2≤q2B.\sqrt{\|u-\sigma u\|^2}\le q^2B.∥u−σu∥2≤q2B.

The result is purely combinatorial and applies to arbitrary fields of L2L^2L2 classes; it does not use properties of the measure.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
