This formalizes the cumulant-convergence reduction associated with Theorem 4.1 of Bizeul–Klartag–Lehec (arXiv:2610.05474v1), p. 18.

Let EEE be a complete finite-dimensional real inner-product space with its Borel measurable structure, and let ν\nuν be a probability measure on EEE. Assume:

  1. r>0r>0r>0.
  2. ∫er∥x∥ dν(x)<∞\int e^{r\|x\|}\,d\nu(x)<\infty∫er∥x∥dν(x)<∞.
  3. k∈Nk\in\mathbb Nk∈N.

For the conditional probability measure ν[∣B‾(0,R)]\nu[\mid\overline B(0,R)]ν[∣B(0,R)] on the closed ball of radius RRR, its kkkth cumulant converges to the kkkth cumulant of ν\nuν:

cumulant⁡(ν[∣B‾(0,R)])k⟶cumulant⁡(ν)k(R→∞).\operatorname{cumulant}\bigl(\nu[\mid\overline B(0,R)]\bigr)_k \longrightarrow \operatorname{cumulant}(\nu)_k \qquad(R\to\infty).cumulant(ν[∣B(0,R)])k⟶cumulant(ν)k(R→∞).

The result is a technical truncation theorem that permits passage from compactly supported conditional laws to the original law in fixed cumulant order.

Formalization Note cumulant is a formal multilinear-series object. The conditioning is Lean's ProbabilityTheory.cond on Metric.closedBall (0 : E) R; the limit parameter is R∈NR\in\mathbb NR∈N.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
