Let ppp be a prime, GGG a commutative topological group and H≤GH \le GH≤G a subgroup. Write rk⁡b(H)\operatorname{rk}_b(H)rkb(H) for the largest n≤bn \le bn≤b such that Zp n\mathbb{Z}_p^{\,n}Zpn admits a continuous injective homomorphism into GGG with image in HHH (zpRankBelow p b H).

If b≤b′b \le b'b≤b′ then

rk⁡b(H)≤rk⁡b′(H),\operatorname{rk}_b(H) \le \operatorname{rk}_{b'}(H),rkb(H)≤rkb′(H),

since the set over which the supremum is taken only grows with the bound.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
