The algebraic nonvanishing assertion in the cross-block lemma. A three-by-three matrix of arbitrarily signed square roots of a i*b j+1 has nonzero determinant whenever the three row parameters and three column parameters are separately distinct. No nonzero-coordinate or nonzero-root hypothesis is needed. The proof works in every characteristic-zero integral domain, in particular in the full ring of integers of a number field.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
