integer-multiplication

Computable list algorithms for Lemma 2.5. Coefficient lists are read constant term first.

  • kpack B c =∑iciBi=\sum_i c_iB^i=∑iciBi packs coefficients into one integer, and kunpack B n W reads off nnn balanced base-BBB digits ci∈[−B/2,B/2)c_i\in[-B/2,B/2)ci∈[−B/2,B/2).
  • polyMul a b is the schoolbook product, whose kkk-th coefficient is ∑i≤kaibk−i\sum_{i\le k}a_ib_{k-i}∑i≤kaibk−i.
  • negFold r l reduces modulo yr+1y^r+1yr+1, and listAdd/listSub act coefficientwise.
  • mulRSpec p r U₀ U₁ V₀ V₁ is the specification of Lemma 2.5. It computes W0=(U0V0−U1V1) mod (yr+1)W_0=(U_0V_0-U_1V_1)\bmod (y^r+1)W0=(U0V0−U1V1)mod(yr+1) and W1=(U0V1+U1V0) mod (yr+1)W_1=(U_0V_1+U_1V_0)\bmod (y^r+1)W1=(U0V1+U1V0)mod(yr+1), then divides each coefficient by 2pr2^pr2pr, rounding towards zero.
  • kronMul p r a b multiplies two length-rrr lists by Kronecker substitution at B=23pB=2^{3p}B=23p, using one integer product. mulR is mulRSpec with its four polynomial products computed by kronMul.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
