For all real numbers a,b,c,da,b,c,da,b,c,d there is a constant C∈RC\in\mathbb{R}C∈R such that

−4t4+a t3+b t2+c t+d≤Cfor every t≥0.-4t^4+a\,t^3+b\,t^2+c\,t+d\le C\qquad\text{for every }t\ge0 .−4t4+at3+bt2+ct+d≤Cfor every t≥0.

This elementary bound is used to show that the drift of the regularizing quartic moment under the thermal-noise generator, which is a polynomial of degree four in the photon number with negative leading coefficient, is bounded above uniformly over states.

Formalization Note The proof exhibits the explicit constant C=S(S3+S2+S+1)C=S(S^3+S^2+S+1)C=S(S3+S2+S+1) with S=1+∣a∣+∣b∣+∣c∣+∣d∣S=1+|a|+|b|+|c|+|d|S=1+∣a∣+∣b∣+∣c∣+∣d∣.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
