elliptic-pdeintegrationpotential-theory

Let www be a smooth vector field on R3\mathbb R^3R3 which is equivariant under every orthogonal transformation outside some ball centered at the origin. Then there is a smooth scalar potential fff satisfying

Δf=∇ ⁣⋅w,w−∇f⟶0as ∣x∣→∞.\Delta f=\nabla\!\cdot w,\qquad w-\nabla f\longrightarrow0\quad\text{as }|x|\to\infty.Δf=∇⋅w,w−∇f⟶0as ∣x∣→∞.

Writing fˉ\bar ffˉ for the spherical average of fff, the difference g=f−fˉg=f-\bar fg=f−fˉ is bounded and satisfies

∀ε>0  ∃R  ∀∣x∣≥R:∣x∣2∥D2g(x)∥ ∥Dg(x)∥≤ε.\forall\varepsilon>0\;\exists R\;\forall |x|\ge R:\quad |x|^2\|D^2g(x)\|\,\|Dg(x)\|\le\varepsilon.∀ε>0∃R∀∣x∣≥R:∣x∣2∥D2g(x)∥∥Dg(x)∥≤ε.

This is the potential construction used to pass from the original FFR variables to the elliptic variables in Corollary 2. It depends only on smoothness and exterior spherical symmetry of the vector field; it has no vacuum-equation, cosmological-constant, or lapse hypothesis.

(101), decay eqs. (101)–(102), and approximate spherical symmetry after eq. (102). The derivative-norm formulation follows from the compactly supported Poisson correction and its differentiated Newtonian-kernel decay.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
