Assume 13<β≤1\tfrac13<\beta\le131<β≤1, c>2βc>2\betac>2β and 0<Λ<120<\Lambda<\tfrac120<Λ<21, and let q1(c)=(1+β)/(2c)q_1(c)=(1+\beta)/(2c)q1(c)=(1+β)/(2c) and q2(c)=(β(2−Λ)−Λ)/(2(1−Λ)c)q_2(c)=(\beta(2-\Lambda)-\Lambda)/(2(1-\Lambda)c)q2(c)=(β(2−Λ)−Λ)/(2(1−Λ)c). Then

q1(c)<1,and, if β<1,q2(c)<q1(c).q_1(c)<1,\qquad\text{and, if }\beta<1,\qquad q_2(c)<q_1(c).q1(c)<1,and, if β<1,q2(c)<q1(c).

These inequalities place the equilibrium quality of Lemma 5 inside [0,1][0,1][0,1] and order the two thresholds of Lemma 5.

Formalization Note The paper states q2(c)<q1(c)q_2(c)<q_1(c)q2(c)<q1(c) "for all ccc". At β=1\beta=1β=1 the two coincide (q1=q2=1/cq_1=q_2=1/cq1=q2=1/c), so the strict inequality is stated under β<1\beta<1β<1.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
