Here L is the set of logarithms of algebraic numbers (the z∈C with ez algebraic), and L is the Q-vector space spanned by 1 and L. Let F be the subfield of C generated by L, that is, by Q and L. Let u∈C be transcendental over F, with uuˉ algebraic, and put Lu=spanQ(L)+spanQ(u,uˉ); as L is a Q-vector space, this is L+Qu+Quˉ. Let K⊆C be a subfield with a finite basis (βk)k∈ι over Q (so K is a number field), and let ℓk∈Lu for k∈ι. If ∑kβkℓk is algebraic, then ℓk=0 for every k.
Proof. Write ℓk=ck+pku+qkuˉ with ck∈L and pk,qk∈Q (DiazModulus.mem_logAlg_adjoin_circle_point_iff), and a=∑kβkℓk. Then (∑kβkck−a)+(∑kβkpk)u+(∑kβkqk)uˉ=0, with every coefficient in F, which contains the algebraic numbers and L; so DiazModulus.transcendental_add_mul_add_mul_conj forces ∑kβkpk=∑kβkqk=0, and as the pk,qk are rational and β is a Q-basis, every pk and qk is 0. Hence ℓk=ck∈L, and Baker's theorem over a number-field basis (Transcendence.baker_number_field_basis, Theorem 4.5 of Waldschmidt's book) gives ℓk=0.
Novelty. With Lu in place of L, this is Baker's theorem (1966) in the form of Theorem 4.5 of Waldschmidt's book (2000), from which it is derived; Baker's theorem enters through Transcendence.baker_number_field_basis, proved in this mission following Chapter 4 of that book. Not found in the sources read; routine.
