Under the paper's standing assumptions, let π4(pn,pr)\pi_4(p_n,p_r)π4(pn,pr) be the full-repair objective of Problem 4, with its feasible set defined in (G.35). Its optimal value is

max⁡(pn,pr) feasibleπ4(pn,pr)=(c−δ+cMf−1)24(1+3δ).\max_{(p_n,p_r)\text{ feasible}}\pi_4(p_n,p_r) =\frac{(c-\delta+c_M f-1)^2}{4(1+3\delta)}.(pn,pr) feasiblemaxπ4(pn,pr)=4(1+3δ)(c−δ+cMf−1)2.

A feasible maximizer exists, and every feasible point on the line pn+fpr=(c+δ+cMf+1)/2p_n+fp_r=(c+\delta+c_Mf+1)/2pn+fpr=(c+δ+cMf+1)/2 attains this value. The line allows several price pairs with the same profit.

Formalization Note The standing assumptions include the nonnegative unit-cost pins. The constraints are the authors' reduced constraints of (G.35), independently of the general equilibrium predicate.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
