Consider the stochastic composite problem (Ψ=f+h\Psi=f+hΨ=f+h as in Lemma 5, X\mathcal XX convex with domain KKK, Φ=Ψ+X\Phi=\Psi+\mathcal XΦ=Ψ+X) under Assumption 2 with constant MMM, ∥x0∥≤M\|x_0\|\le M∥x0∥≤M, and Assumption 1 in conditional form along the oracle's query points, with a jointly measurable oracle. Run Algorithm 4 with batch sizes mk≥1m_k\ge1mk≥1, fix N≥1N\ge1N≥1, and assume (2.9) and (2.10) for k=1,…,Nk=1,\dots,Nk=1,…,N. Then for every x∗∈Kx^*\in Kx∗∈K the quantities Φ(xNag)−Φ(x∗)\Phi(x^{ag}_N)-\Phi(x^*)Φ(xNag)−Φ(x∗) and ∥G(xkmd,∇Ψ(xkmd),βk)∥2\|\mathcal G(x^{md}_k,\nabla\Psi(x^{md}_k),\beta_k)\|^2∥G(xkmd,∇Ψ(xkmd),βk)∥2 (k=1,…,Nk=1,\dots,Nk=1,…,N) are integrable and

E[Φ(xNag)−Φ(x∗)]ΓN+∑k=1Nβk(1−LΨβk)8ΓkE[∥G(xkmd,∇Ψ(xkmd),βk)∥2]≤∥x0−x∗∥22λ1+LfΓN(∥x∗∥2+2M2)+σ2∑k=1Nβk(4+(1−LΨβk)2)4Γk(1−LΨβk)mk,\frac{\mathbb E\big[\Phi(x^{ag}_N)-\Phi(x^*)\big]}{\Gamma_N}+\sum_{k=1}^N\frac{\beta_k(1-L_\Psi\beta_k)}{8\Gamma_k}\mathbb E\Big[\big\|\mathcal G(x^{md}_k,\nabla\Psi(x^{md}_k),\beta_k)\big\|^2\Big]\le\frac{\|x_0-x^*\|^2}{2\lambda_1}+\frac{L_f}{\Gamma_N}\big(\|x^*\|^2+2M^2\big)+\sigma^2\sum_{k=1}^N\frac{\beta_k\big(4+(1-L_\Psi\beta_k)^2\big)}{4\Gamma_k(1-L_\Psi\beta_k)m_k},ΓNE[Φ(xNag)−Φ(x∗)]+k=1∑N8Γkβk(1−LΨβk)E[G(xkmd,∇Ψ(xkmd),βk)2]≤2λ1∥x0−x∗∥2+ΓNLf(∥x∗∥2+2M2)+σ2k=1∑N4Γk(1−LΨβk)mkβk(4+(1−LΨβk)2),

the expectations being over all oracle samples ξk,i\xi_{k,i}ξk,i, k≤Nk\le Nk≤N, i≤mki\le m_ki≤mk.

This is the stochastic analogue of (2.53); Theorem 4 follows from it by averaging over the random output index.

Formalization Note The page prints Φ(x)\Phi(x)Φ(x) on the left of (3.35); after the substitution x=x∗x=x^*x=x∗ it means Φ(x∗)\Phi(x^*)Φ(x∗), which is stated. The final form of the printed chain is stated. Only x∗∈Kx^*\in Kx∗∈K is assumed (not its optimality). Integrability is part of the conclusion.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
