Let 0<δ≤120 < \delta \le \tfrac120<δ≤21. Let P1P_1P1 be the point mass at 000 (the law of Z1≡0Z_1 \equiv 0Z1≡0) and P2P_2P2 the law on {0,M}\{0, M\}{0,M} with mass δ\deltaδ at MMM. Then

Dkl(P1∥P2)=−log⁡(1−δ)≤δ1−δ≤2δ.D_{\mathrm{kl}}(P_1\|P_2) = -\log(1-\delta) \le \frac{\delta}{1-\delta} \le 2\delta .Dkl(P1∥P2)=−log(1−δ)≤1−δδ≤2δ.

This bounds the information in one observation for the n−1/k∗n^{-1/k_*}n−1/k∗ branch of Theorem 3.

Formalization Note. Dkl(P1∥P2)D_{\mathrm{kl}}(P_1\|P_2)Dkl(P1∥P2) is the platform's Bernoulli relative entropy d(0,δ)=0⋅log⁡(0/δ)+1⋅log⁡(1/(1−δ))d(0, \delta) = 0\cdot\log(0/\delta) + 1\cdot\log(1/(1-\delta))d(0,δ)=0⋅log(0/δ)+1⋅log(1/(1−δ)), where 0log⁡0=00 \log 0 = 00log0=0 is the standard convention. Stated as three conjuncts, one per relation of the chain.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
