This theorem supplies a graph-norm approximating sequence for every smooth test under a local-density hypothesis.

Let VVV be a finite-dimensional complete real inner-product normed space with its Borel measurable structure and second-countable topology. Let ν\nuν be a probability measure, let mmm be an additive Haar measure, let DDD be a local density for (ν,m)(\nu,m)(ν,m), and let fff be a smooth-gradient test for ν\nuν. Then there exists a sequence (pj)(p_j)(pj) in the domain of the Lipschitz gradient operator such that

(pj,lipschitzOperator⁡(pj))⟶(f.toL2⁡,(MemLp.gradient⁡(f)).toLp⁡(∇f))\bigl(p_j,\operatorname{lipschitzOperator}(p_j)\bigr) \longrightarrow \bigl(f.\operatorname{toL2}, (\operatorname{MemLp.gradient}(f)).\operatorname{toLp}(\nabla f)\bigr)(pj,lipschitzOperator(pj))⟶(f.toL2,(MemLp.gradient(f)).toLp(∇f))

in the product topology as j→∞j\to\inftyj→∞. Equivalently, the L2L^2L2 functions and their operator images converge simultaneously.

The declaration is Test.exists_domain_sequence_tendsto_readable. The sequence consists of domain elements, and the gradient representative is placed in L2(ν)L^2(\nu)L2(ν) using toLp; the statement is a convergence assertion rather than an equality at any finite index.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
