Let m≥1m\ge1m≥1 be an integer and let α∈C\alpha\in\mathbb Cα∈C with α∉R\alpha\notin\mathbb Rα∈/R; no condition is imposed on ∣α∣|\alpha|∣α∣. Let Cm,α={z∈C:Re⁡(zm(∣z∣2+α))=0}C_{m,\alpha}=\{z\in\mathbb C:\operatorname{Re}\bigl(z^m(|z|^2+\alpha)\bigr)=0\}Cm,α={z∈C:Re(zm(∣z∣2+α))=0} as in equation (1), and let C^m,α\widehat C_{m,\alpha}Cm,α be the closure of Cm,αC_{m,\alpha}Cm,α in the Riemann sphere C^=C∪{∞}\widehat{\mathbb C}=\mathbb C\cup\{\infty\}C=C∪{∞}, the one-point compactification of C\mathbb CC.

Then

C^m,α=Cm,α∪{∞}.\widehat C_{m,\alpha}=C_{m,\alpha}\cup\{\infty\}.Cm,α=Cm,α∪{∞}.

It describes the curve C^m,α\widehat C_{m,\alpha}Cm,α on which the Möbius statements of Theorem 2 and Remark 5 are made: taking the closure adds exactly the point at infinity and no finite point.

Formalization Note: the Riemann sphere is OnePoint ℂ with its usual topology, Cm,αC_{m,\alpha}Cm,α enters through the inclusion C↪C^\mathbb C\hookrightarrow\widehat{\mathbb C}C↪C, and the closure is the topological closure there.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
