Let d,T≥1d,T\ge1d,T≥1, let z1,…,zT∈Rdz_1,\ldots,z_T\in\mathbb R^dz1,…,zT∈Rd, and assume every coordinate obeys ∣zt,i∣≤G∞|z_{t,i}|\le G_\infty∣zt,i∣≤G∞. For the linear class indexed by the probability simplex, the empirical Rademacher complexity equals the average of the largest signed coordinate sum and satisfies

1TEε[max⁡1≤i≤d∑t=1Tεtzt,i]≤G∞2ln⁡dT.\frac1T\mathbb E_\varepsilon\left[\max_{1\le i\le d}\sum_{t=1}^T\varepsilon_tz_{t,i}\right] \le\frac{G_\infty\sqrt{2\ln d}}{\sqrt T}.T1Eε[1≤i≤dmaxt=1∑Tεtzt,i]≤TG∞2lnd.

This is the explicit finite-class complexity bound obtained from the online-learning reduction and Exponentiated Gradient.

Formalization Note The expectation is the exact finite average over all 2T2^T2T sign assignments. The dimension may be one: then both sides are zero. The coordinate bound is the definition of ∥zt∥∞≤G∞\|z_t\|_\infty\le G_\infty∥zt∥∞≤G∞; no online algorithm appears in the goal statement.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
