Let r(s)r(s)r(s) be the number of ordered pairs (p,q)(p,q)(p,q) of odd primes with p+q=sp+q=sp+q=s. For every real x≥2000x\ge 2000x≥2000,

∑0≤s≤xr(s)  ≥  x29(log⁡x)2.\sum_{0\le s\le x} r(s) \;\ge\; \frac{x^2}{9(\log x)^2}.0≤s≤x∑r(s)≥9(logx)2x2.

This is the first-moment estimate with c1=1/9c_1=1/9c1=1/9. Together with the second moment it shows, via Cauchy–Schwarz, that sums of two odd primes have positive density.

Formalization Note The sum runs over integers 0≤s≤⌊x⌋0\le s\le\lfloor x\rfloor0≤s≤⌊x⌋. rrr is Schnir.r from Def_Schnir_defs.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
